Graduate Admissions
For a full listing of graduate school admission requirements, please see the graduate school Website.

Full Admission English Requirements
Graduate international students must submit an acceptable score on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). The university minimum is 550 for paper based tests or 213 for computer based tests, but many departments have established higher requirements for their own students. For more information, please contact the individual departments or the Graduate Office.

Conditional Admission English Requirements
Graduate students may be considered for admission with a TOEFL score of at least 475 for paper based tests or 153 for computer based tests. Students admitted with a TOEFL score between 475 and 550 will be granted conditional admission and required to enroll in ESL courses.

Students who successfully complete all required ESL courses will be considered to have attained the necessary English proficiency for continued graduate study and therefore are EXEMPT from further TOEFL testing.

ESL "Certificate of Completion" Option
